Terms of use

Due to the introduction of new rules for privacy protection in the EU in May 2018 (GDPR), Jodacare now needs to collect your consent to our terms of use.

When you receive services from Jodacare AS, you will give us access to certain information about you. It is important for us to protect and respect your privacy. Our collection and use of personal data are under Norwegian law of privacy. In these terms of use you will find information about:

  • What information we collect, and why

  • How this information is being used

  • What rights and choices you have

It is important that you read and understand our terms of us, so you can keep your privacy the way you want it.

The information we collect

Jodacare is a digital communication solution for health personnel, family and patient. The solution has features like text, images, calendar shared with the users within your network.

When you get a user account for our services it is necessary for us to register some personal information about you for us to be able to offer you our services. We need your name and contact information to register your account and give you access to our service. This information is what you register when you register your account. Are you going to use Jodacare in communication with a municipality or institution information about the people you are connected to in Jodacare will be registered in our system. We will also register information about your consent to use Jodacare.

When you use our digital services, for instance, if you visit our website or app, we will collect information about which services you use and how you use them. The information is what follows:

Information about use

This is information about the unit (for instance the computer, smartphone or tablet) you use for our services, this being the unit you have, operative system, screen size and similar information. The information will help us customize the view of our solution to the unit you are using.

We also store information about inquires to us, so we are able to give you the best possible service at a later occasion.

How the information is protected

We use the information we register about you to the following activities:

  1. Give the right and good delivery of products and services, and prevent abuse of the service

  2. Give good customer service and efficient solving of issues

  3. Follow legal requirements, and deliver a secure solution

  4. Improve the user experience, for instance by adapting our content for your web browser 

  5. Develop or test new products and features, by making and testing the use of features for certain user groups

  6. Understand user trends, for instance by looking at which features are the most popular among our users

We can also use information about you to send you personal information about updates, product improvements, questionnaires or/and recommendations if we find it relevant to you. To do this we use a CRM system where we store names and contact information about our users.

Sharing of Information

Information we have registered about you as a customer or user will normally only be used by employees in Jodacare AS. It is only a small number of employees that have access to this information, and they have all signed a confidentiality agreement. Other than this, the information will only be shared with third parties in legal matters, for instance by a petition from governmental authorities, and in these scenarios:

  • To deliver services we use subcontractors to fulfill the agreement we have with you and do tasks on our behalf. These subcontractors only have access to the information necessary to do their assignments for us. To preserve your privacy, such subcontractors are legally bound to not use this information to other purposes than the assignment from us and delete data when the assignment is finished, as well as having technical and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized use and access.

Patients Privacy

Several of our users are children or people without the capability to consent. They have the need for special privacy, which we preserve in the following way:

  • When we deliver products and services to children or people without the capability to consent, we will need to register some personal data about the patient (for instance when registering the user). Such personal data will only be registered to be able to deliver the service and administer the customer relationship, and we obtain consent from parents or legal guardians.

  • If we get a notice that children or people without the capability to consent have given us personal information without the consent of a parent or legal guardian, we will delete the information and possibly terminate the account if necessary, Parents/guardians can also contact customer service for the person it may concern.

Your options and rights

You can get access to the information we have about you by contacting customer service. Here you can also ask to be deleted from our registers. Deleting you is not possible if we are in a running customer relationship with you, as we need the information to deliver you our service. If you use Jodacare in communication with a municipality or institution you should reach out to them for them to terminate your agreement and delete the information about you.

Security

The law of Privacy sets certain demands to the keeper of personal information to secure them against unauthorized access, changing, deleting and sharing. We, therefore, have introduced technical and organizational measures to make sure personal information is stored secure and confidential. We store personal information on computers with restricted access. They are placed in controlled facilities, and our security measures are controlled continuously. We can however not 100 percent guarantee security of data transfer by unsecured internet. This means there is a risk that others without permission forces access to information when data is sent and stored electronically. You should therefore never give away sensitive information unless it is absolutely necessary, the website is cryptate (look for https and a lock in the address field) and your antivirus software is updated.

Effective date and changes

These terms of use for privacy is effective from March 1st 2020. We reserve the right to change these terms of use, and the changes will be posted on our website. Some changes will need you to give a new consent. In these cases, you will be notified when logging on to our services.
